About this property

Welcome to Sage Lodge

Set along the scenic banks of the Yellowstone River in Pray, Montana, Sage Lodge is a high-end resort hotel combining rustic charm with modern comforts. The property's lodge-style architecture, characterized by warm timber and stone features, offers striking views of surrounding rolling hills and snow-capped mountains, making it appealing for those seeking a peaceful natural retreat.

The resort is well-equipped with two on-site restaurants, a spa, a hot tub, and a 24/7 fitness center. While the spa has been praised for its relaxing treatments, recent guest notes mention ongoing renovations. Free Wi-Fi, breakfast, accessible accommodations, and pet-friendly policies enhance convenience, though there is no swimming pool or airport shuttle service available on site. The atmosphere remains tranquil, with some visitors appreciating the quiet environment for rest after outdoor activities.

Its location provides convenient access to various nature experiences, including Emigrant Peak and the expansive Custer Gallatin National Forest, making it a good base for outdoor enthusiasts interested in hiking, fishing, or wildlife observation. Girls trip 2026! From the moment we walked into Sage, it was like being greeted with a warm hug. The atmosphere was incredible. We were able to indulge at The Grill and our server was so knowledgeable and the food was outstanding! We took a wood burning and leather stamping class with Noah, which was so fun. It was such a fun way to commemorate the trip by making our own souvenirs. HIGHLY recommend the mixology class. We learned so much from Joe and he mixes a top tier drink and made excellent recommendations. The general manager, Jon, is so kind and really made us feel right at home. The food at Fireside Grill was beyond delicious. I don’t think they could make a bad meal if they tried! Our server, Nolan, was so kind and attentive. Even though the spa is under renovation, the massages were luxurious and relaxing! Above all, Graham and Maizee made our trip absolutely unforgettable. The banter, the laughter, and their service was unmatched. We will definitely be back. Thank you to the whole staff who make this a truly incredible place!!

We had an incredible 3 night stay at Sage Lodge. It was the perfect location to enjoy all the activities we did for this epic birthday trip. We had a king size room with a fireplace facing the pond on the lower level. The room was very clean - the whole hotel is clean. The snacks out all day and coffee for half the day are a nice touch. We had breakfast one day at the main restaurant which was great - Harry was great. And dinner one night at the steak house - Lane was the man!! Tyler behind the bar was awesome too. The spa was fantastic loved the facilities and reasonable pricing. We enjoyed the outdoor hot tub after a long day of fly fishing. The hotel is very quiet which was nice to go to bed at a reasonable hour. I would highly recommend!!! A few comments about the gym though - there are no wipes for cleaning (the ones available were all dried up) and the treadmill desperately needs to be replaced. It is not longer calibrated and kind of on its last leg.

I recently visited Sage and I had an incredible experience! The service was exceptionally friendly and attentive. Every staff member went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. ( You’ll get an amazing complimentary welcome ) The dining experience was fantastic, with delicious meals and a warm atmosphere in both restaurants. A special shout-out to the shuttle bus driver, Graham, who was wonderful and made our transportation seamless. Additionally, my personal tour guide, Bejurn was knowledgeable and incredibly nice, making the tour both enjoyable and informative. I’ll be back soon!

As an event planner, I give Sage Lodge a glowing 5-star review—it’s one of my absolute favorite venues. The property is breathtaking: stunning lodge architecture with warm timber and stone details, massive windows framing incredible views of the Yellowstone River, rolling hills, and snow-capped mountains. The natural beauty alone turns any gathering into something unforgettable—sunsets, wildlife sightings, and that perfect Montana backdrop make photos and ceremonies look effortless and magazine-worthy. What really seals it is the staff. They’re professional, warm, and incredibly accommodating. From planning details to handling last-minute requests, they anticipate needs, communicate clearly, and approach everything with genuine enthusiasm. They make my job feel easy and elevate every event. I’ve worked at many luxury properties, but Sage Lodge stands out for its stunning setting and exceptional, heartfelt service. Highly recommend—true 5 stars!

Truly an unforgettable experience! My wife and I spent our honeymoon at Sage for a week and we were blown away from the moment we walked in the door. The customer service was exemplary from the front desk folks, to the restaurant, bartenders, and workers at the spa. You can just stay at the lodge for a week and be blown away by the views, activities, food, and drink. On top of that, the location is perfect. It’s nestled between the national park and Bozeman which makes it great for day trips either direction. In addition, the town of Emigrant has some great local bars and restaurants nearby the Lodge. I cannot say enough nice things about Sage, thank you!

We stayed one night at Sage in February and wish we could have stayed longer! It is beautiful! The views are great and the onsite restaurants and bar are also awesome! I wish we lived closer because this is such a great spot to go for a night or two! The only downside we noticed is the location, it is decent proximity to Bozeman which is where we flew into, but once getting over towards Pray, there does not seem to be a lot to do! I am sure in the summer this is a much different story, but for a Sunday night in February there did not seem to be a lot going on! I would still come back regardless, but would just hope to be able to do more next time to enjoy the full serenity Sage Lodge has to offer!
